Evolab’s Top 3 Movie Picks To Watch This Weekend

With the temperatures dropping outside, you’d rather put some jammies on, curl up in a fluffy blanket, and have an indoor smoke sesh with your favorite people (or your pet). Why not include a great movie while you wait for the world to unthaw. Here are some of our favs.

If you haven’t gotten the chance to see the previous seasons of this modernized cannabis show (that’s actually good), then you got some binging to do. “High Maintenance” takes you on a journey with star Ben Sinclair as “The Guy” who rides his bike around delivering that sticky icky to an array of clients. Seriously, that’s his name in the show - The Guy - which is a deeply rooted name during the pre-legalization days for all of us back alley buyers. What’s so great about this show are the stories. It gives it a human element that goes beyond just smoking grass while highlighting how societies work now that this plant is legal in a lot of different states. For being another weed show, it’s pretty dope. Pun intended.

Weedmaps elaborates on this show and breaks down each of its rooted elements. Pair with: Delta 8 THC, a rare cannabinoid with an uplifting and focused high.

Warning: This docuseries is INSANE and will blow your mind. It takes place in Humboldt County, California, where the cannabis rush started, and begins to follow the steps of Garret Rodriguez, a 29-year-old who had a dream to live on the beachside of Mexico but decided to join a community of cannabis growers in the deep, remote forest of the Emerald Triangle. This is his last known whereabouts. This series takes you through some crazy turns and twists through the rebellious and, oftentimes, dangerous hills of Humboldt County where hundreds of people have come there looking to be a part of the cannabis movement - only to turn up missing and never seen again. The creators of “Murder Mountain” find that folks are pointing to prohibition - since it’s still illegal in the US - and how these black market operators, who live off the land and answer to no one in the Emerald Triangle, are to blame.

Without giving anything away, Leafly wrote a great article about this docuseries that breaks down its murderous mystery. This show is intense, pair with: Chroma, our pure THC distillate that’ll calm those nerves and your mind.

Yes, we know. This is old news. But if you haven’t had the chance to sit down and participate in this movie, you need to. Like right now. We say “participate” because this mind-bending and psychological movie is interactive. Throughout the movie, you’re asked a series of questions that you and your controller have to answer. You have 10 seconds. What you choose will alter, or at times send you back to, a series of events that are based upon your answers. Choose wisely and pay attention to each characters’ role. Listening to your gut instinct has never been so relevant. Pair with: Alchemy Balance 1:1, our CBD strain specific line.

And if you want to just get high and laugh, how about Reefer Madness or Half Baked. Pair with: Chroma Colors, our natural fruit flavored vapes that include Strawberry Lemonade, Blueberry, Sweet Melon and Tropical Fruit.

Or if you’re into cooking shows, check out Bong Appetit. Pair with: Alchemy, our strain specific line with the terpiest of terpenes
